Our April Issue Is Here!

Why advertise your business in the Rural Observer?

Potential readership of up to 10,000 or more.
We pay Canada Post to deliver this FREE community newspaper to EVERY home in the Juan de Fuca electoral area ( Port Renfrew, Shirley, Otter Point, East Sooke, Malahat, Songhees and Willis Point). Distribution objective of 6,500 copies (33% more than the Sooke News Mirror)

Expose yourself! Our rural communities have many home-based businesses that many residents (and potential customers) don't know exist, and so shop in larger centers. Let everyone know you're here!

Lower ad to print ratio
(maximum of 50:50) than other newspapers, which is usually 80:20, means less competition for our reader's attention.

It's economical.
A full page ad costs about the same as handing out a basic business card. We also offer discounts for multiple issue advertising and for non-profit organizations.

Twice the exposure!
Our Advertisers' Directory at the back of every issue means that your business is listed twice, and provides a quick reference guide to help our readers find your product or service.

We share your values. We are a non-profit society whose mission is to promote, enhance and protect a rural community lifestyle, while supporting local business by providing a means of advertising.
